Married on Tuesday evening, June 5th, at the residence of the bride’s parents in this city, Prof. E.W. Craven and Miss Mary Buffington. Rev. T.I. Stephens, of the Methodist Episcopal Church, officiating, assisted by Mrs. P.W. Parsons, of the Baptist Church.

The ceremony took place at 8:30 p.m., in the presence of a large company of relatives and friends. It was brief but impressive. After the vows had been taken, the whole company relaxed into as joyous and merry a wedding party as has ever celebrated rites in this fair city. A most elegant repost was served and in the disposal of this and with music and conversation the evening was spent.

A large number of rich and valuable presents attested to the affection and esteem in which the high contracting parties were held.

The bride is a daughter of B.F. Buffington Esq., one of our most solid and enterprising citizens. She has grown to womanhood in our city, and her talents and accomplishments have made her a leading spirit in social circles.

The groom will this fall enter upon the third year as Superintendent of our public schools. He is a graduate of the State University, and his repeated re-elections to the positions in our schools, show that he is meeting with success in his profession.

The OPINION extends congratulations and good wishes to the happy young couple.
