Glenwood Opinion
August 13, 1881

Married at the residence of the bride’s parents, August 3rd, 1881, by the Rev. P.C. Stire, Mr. Frank Anshutz, of Glenwood, Iowa, to Sarah A., youngest daughter of John Blake, of Pecatonica, Ills.

The evening was exceedingly warm but otherwise all that could be expected. The parlors were tastefully decorated with ferns and running vines, while bouquets of beautiful flowers were placed in every conceivable nook. At half past eight the bridal party entered; the brother and sister of the bride, followed by two little children preceding. The bride was tastefully attired in a steel colored silk, her only ornaments being the gift of the groom, a set of diamonds. The groom wore the conventional suit of black.

The ceremonies were conducted by the Rev. P.C. Stire, and both of the contracting parties bore themselves as though getting married was an every day affair. The supper was everything that could be deserved. The tables being literally loaded with delicacies.

Several guest were present from a distance, among whom we note, Mrs. A.H. Moore and Mrs. M.A. Blake, of Glenwood, Iowa; Mrs. H.N. Oakes, of Mt. Carroll, Ill.; the mother of A.H. Moore, of Glenwood; Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Styles, of Freeport, Ill.; Mrs. G.C. Stanborn of Chicago; B.A. Lockwood, of Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. Casper and Miss Stella Hoyt, of Westfield Corners, Ill.
