Jacob Adams Deceased

The last will and Testament of Jacob Adams of Plattsmouth Precinct Cass County, Nebraska.

I Jacob Adams considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following.

I give and bequeath the use of the place on which I reside being the E. ½ of S.E. ¼ of Sec. 25 T. 12 N. of R. 13 E. and the S. W. ¼ of S.W. ¼ of Sec. 30 in Township 12 N. of R. 14 E. with all the appurtenances to my beloved wife, Rachel Adams, the same to descend at her death to Elizabeth A. Maxwell, wife of Samuel Maxwell, Lydia E. Livingston, wife of John Livingston, Arabella Adams and William T. Adams, children of myself and said Rachel Adams to be by them equally divided. I also give and bequeath to my said wife all the kitchen and household furniture and all the personal property including notes and accounts. She to apply the same as far as possible to the payment of debt against the estate and the remainder if any to descend at the death of my wife to my children above named. I also give and bequeath to my said wife the use of all the remainder of my real estate during her life and at her death all the remainder of the same to descend to Elizabeth A. Maxwell, wife of Samuel Maxwell, one share; Lydia E. Livingston, wife of John Livingston, one share; Arabella Adams, one share; William T. Adams, one share; and to my four grandchildren, Cordelia E., Josephine S., Jesse M. and Jacob M. Cames, children of my daughter by a former wife collectively one share and no more. I also authorize my said wife if it is necessary after exhausting the personal property to sell such portion of my real estate excepting the home place above described as may be necessary to pay debts against my estate.

I hereby appoint Samuel Maxwell Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
