WILL OF JAMES W. ROATH, page 161, Book 4
I, James W. Roath, in the county of Mills, and State of Iowa, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills, by me made at any time heretofore.
And as to my worldly estate and all property, real, personal or mixed, of which I shall die seized or posssessed, or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise, bequeath, and dispose thereof in the manner following, to wit;
My will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall, by my executors hereinafter named, be paid out of my estate, as soon after my decease as shall by them be found convenient.
The residue of my estate, real, personal and mixed, of which I shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at my decease, I give and devise and bequeath to be equally divided among my said children, Julius N. - James H. - Almina Roath Edgerton (now deceased and whose share is to go to her only child, Mabel). Frances Roath Zint (now deceased and whose share is to go to her only child, Henry), Burney Roath (now deceased and whose share is to be equally divided among his children, Harry, Holbrook, Delbert and Grace).
And lastly, I do nominate and appoint A. D. Sowers to be the executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof, I, the said J. W. Roath, have to this my last will and testament consisting of one sheet of paper subscribing my name this the 4th day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven. Signed James W. Roath
