JURGEN BRANDT WILL
Last Will and Testament of Jurgen Brandt. In the name of the beloved
Father, Amen;I Jurgen Brandt, of Mills County, Iowa being of sound and disposing mind
and memory desiring to arrange for the disposition of my property after
my decease, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and
testament, hereby revoking all former wills made by me.
FIRST: I order my executor hereinafter named to defray the funeral
expenses, or any other expenses incured during my last sickness out of
any funds on hand.SECOND: It is my will and I so order that the legal heir of my beloved
son, Gergus Brandt, known as Geo. Brandt, deceased, of Seattle,
Washington, Also my beloved son Hans Brandt of Pottawattamie County Iowa
and my beloved son Henry Brandt, of Mills County, Iowa, shall have no
share in the distribution of my property, as hereafter provided, they
having received their proportionate share of my estate during my
lifetime.THIRD: I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son son Bernard Brandt,
of Mills County Iowa all of my household furniture, beds and bedding
wearing apparal, books, silver and plated ware, jewelry carpenter or any
other tools, or any other personal property, other than money, credit or
notes.FOURTH: It is my will, and I so devise, that the remainder of my
property, consisting of money notes, and credits, of which I may die
seized, shall be equally divided as follows:1. To the five children of my beloved son, Thomas Brandt, deceased of
Mills County Iowa one equal one fourth share.2. To Dora, daughter of my beloved son Claus Brandt, deceased of Los
Angeles, Cal. one equal one fourth share.3. To my beloved daughter, Katherine Enselman, of Mills County Iowa one
equal one fourth share.4. To my beloved son, Johann Brandt of Portland, Oregon one equal one
fourth share.FIFTH: I hereby nominate my son Bernard Brandt, and appoint him
Executor of this my last will and testament, to qualify, act and fulfill
the office of Executor, without bonds.Signed and Executed, this the 3rd of July 1903
The said Jurgen Brandt, of said County and State, and on said date,
signed and sealed this instrument and declared the same to be his last
Will and Testament, and we, at his request, and in the presence of each
other, and in his presence, have hereunto signed our names as
