WILL OF JAMES McCOY

Be it remembered that I James McCoy of Ingraham Township in Mills County Iowa, being of sound mind and good memory and having full use of all my mental faculties so as to enable me properly to do so, do hereby make and proclaim this my last will and testament, confident as I am now to what it is supposed will be my death bed.

1st..I hereby order and direct the full payment of my funeral expenses and of all just debts.

2nd..After a full compliance with the above requriments I make the following disposition of my property. I will that each and every one of my children shall have and receive fifty dollars as soon as that much shall be in the hands of my executor. The balance of my personal property to go to my wife, Margaret McCoy to be and remain hers during her natural life. She then to dispose the same in such manner she pleases. Also the increase and profits accruing from my real estate to be and belong to my wife as long as she lives and upon the death of my wife she is to be allowed to dispose of my real estate as she wishes or by will made prior to her death, except the homestead which is understood remains in her hands and possession and to be a home for her and each of my children as choose to occupy it.

I hereby appoint Mitchel Y. Dalrymple to be the executor of this my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 2nd day of April 1865.
