Peter E. Smith, an old resident of Liscomb, and father of L. H. Smith, of Liscomb, died at his son's home at 6 o'clock Saturday evening of a complication of ailments due to his advanced years. The end had been expected for some time. Mr. Smith was a native of York state, and was 79 years old. He came west and settled in Butler county in the fall of 1869, and the following spring moved to Liscomb, where he has since made his home. For several years he was in the lumber business, and followed his trade, carpentering. His wife died May 26, 1907. Aside from the one son surviving there are also three grandsons and six granddaughters. Mr. Smith was a member of the Grace Reformed church of Liscomb, where the funeral was held today.
