I, too, am looking for any information on an Allen: Joseph Holmes Allen was active in Republican politics, having been a state senator from Pocahontas (not sure of dates), and mayor of Des Moines (1936-1938). His father was Daniel J. Allen, of whom I know virtually nothing.
