Brooks, Alexander in 1920 census

Because I am having difficulty tracking my gt. grandmother's parents, I am attempting to find her siblings and their descendants in hope that some one of them might have more information. I found an Alexander Brooks, age 50, b. IA, on the Marshall Twp, Marshall Co., 1920 census but don't know for sure that this is the right one. My Alexander was b. 1870, IA, the son of Charles B. Brooks (b. ca 1838 PA) and Clarinda Haer (b. ca 1852 Canada). Charles and Clarinda lived in Iowa (somewhere) from 1870 to 1879 (their eldest 5 children were born in IA) but they were in Montana Twp, Jewell Co. in 1880 and in Irvington, Kossuth Co by the 1890's. I believe that they were in the Marshall/Jasper Co. in the early 1890's because my 17 yr. old gt. grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Brooks, was married in Jasper Co. in 1894; however, because of the absence of the 1890 census data, I can't verify anything.
I am hoping that one of Alexander's descendant's might still be in the area or that anyone might have some ideas for further research for this family. Thank you for your help.
