My husband's paternal great-grandmother Diana Ballard had an illegitimate son, Charles W. Ballard in 1889.He was my husband's grandfather. Diana was born in Marshall County to Charles C. and Delilah (Gaer)Ballard in 1860, her child was born in Troy, Kansas. She died in Hecla, South Dakota in 1918 in
the flu epidemic.

We do not know the father of Charles. Recently we received a delayed birth certificate of Charles, sworn
by his aunt and uncle that his father was John Paul Ballard,born in Iowa. This is all we know.

Please, does anyone know anymore about this man?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much in advance.
