Rochelle Smith, 80, of Marshalltown, died Saturday May 23, 2020, at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home in Gladbrook from complications of COVID-19 pneumonia. There will be no services. Cremation remains will be interred at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshalltown, arrangements handled by the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Rochelle was born January 3, 1940, in Marshalltown to Carleton and Jessie Logan Tucker. She was a 1958 graduate of Marshalltown High School. She was married in Marshalltown to William Kent Smith on January 3, 1960 and later divorced. They were the parents of two sons, Kurt and Kent Smith. She retired as a telephone operator for U.S. West/Qwest Communications in Des Moines. Rochelle is survived by her sons; two grandchildren, Allie Meagan Smith and Jake Smith; a brother, Carleton Tucker; a niece, several nephews and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carla Tucker, and half-sister Jacqueline Anderson.
