Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, in St Paul Lutheran Church for Henry A Koppey, 88, State Center, Rev L R Meinecke officiated and burial was in Hillside cemetery.

Mr Koppey who was born September 3, 1879, son of Henry and Regina Westphal Koppey in Neagenborn, Germany, died at Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown Friday. He had been a patient there for one week.

He came to the United States with his parents at the age of three and the family farmed near State Center. He was educated in rural Marshall County Schools.

Henry A Koppey married Edna Probst July 7, 1904 and they farmed near State Center until retiring to town in 1934. He had made his home with a daughter, Mrs Christopher Thake.

Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs Homer Stone of Nevada and Mrs Leland Thake of Marshalltown; 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, four brothers and a sister.
