Mrs. Sarah Cowgill, aged 77, one of the pioneer women of Marshall County, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eliza McRill, four miles southwest of Gladbrook, Friday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock of heart disease. She had suffered with impaired heart action for the past six weeks, and since last fall had made her home with the daughter where she died. Prior to that time or since the death of her husband, G. W. Cowgill, she had always lived with her son, Henry C. Cowgill, three miles south of Albion. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Cowgill were among the earlier settlers of Marshall County, having settled near Albion forty-nine years ago. They came to the state from Delaware county, Ohio, and had always lived in the Albion neighborhood. Besides the daughter, two sons, Henry C. and Charles C. Cowgill, both living near Albion, are left. The body was taken overland to the home of the former, where the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. M. A. Goodell, of Albion, officiating. The interment will be held in the Albion cemetery.
