She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 54 years, Robert, in 1996.
Ann was born on March 16, 1924, in Marshalltown, where her family was friends with the Wright family. Both families eventually ended up living in Cedar Rapids, and on August 23, 1942, Ann and Bob Wright were married. In 1959, they moved with their four children to Des Moines, where Ann lived until shortly after Bob's death, when she moved back to Cedar Rapids.
Ann had an inquisitive mind and active life up until her sudden death. She died while working in her garden, something she looked forward to every winter and spring. She also enjoyed traveling, researching family history, quilting, reading, working on her house, and staying engaged with her children and grandchildren, whom she frequently visited and emailed on her new computer. She worked out regularly at the gym, where she made new friends, volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital, and last fall volunteered with the Kerry for President campaign.
All who knew and loved her will miss her inquisitiveness, zest for life, and perseverance in the face of adversity
