Mrs Margaret Somers was born in Irshire, Scotland, September 18, 1837, and died in Belleville, Kansas, October 8th, 1903. The deceased moved to Belleville from Marshalltown, Iowa, in the year 1901. Her husband was laid to rest four years ago, and an only son, William Somers, of this city, survives her. Mrs. Somers was a faithful Christian, being a member of the Presbyterian church. She had been sick for several weeks and her death was no great surprise to the immediate family. She was one of those very pleasant old ladies who always had a kind word for every body, and whom it was a pleasure to know. A funeral ceremony in the way of a short prayer, and scripture reading, was held at the house Friday morning conducted by Rev. L. B. Parker, after which a long line of sympathizing friends followed the remains to the Rock Island deopot, when her body was sent to Marshalltown, Iowa, for interment. He son, William Somers and a cousin Will Nichols, accompanied the remains to Iowa. Her many friends join in the genuine feeling of sadness which her death cast over the home out, of which she is gone forever.
