From the Marion Sentinel of Marion, IA Thursday, February 25, 1915:
Martin S.[sic] Updike, a well known and highly respected resident of Marshall county for 62 years, died at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Updike, of Marshalltown, from the infirmities of old age. Mr. Updike was 96 years old.
