Anna Magdalena Banzhaf, wife of John Banzhaf and one of the best known German ladies of the city, died Saturday night at 12 o'clock, at the family home, No. 312 East State street. Mrs. Banzhaf had been ill for some time as the result of paralysis, which was the direct cause of her death. Anna Magdalena Aigley was born in Schaidhelm, Wuerttemberg, Germany, Dec. 26, 1817. She came to American in 1849 and was married to John Banzhaf, in Chicago, in 1863, soon thereafter moving to Marshalltown. She is survived by the husband, one brother, a resident of Lena, Ill., and one sister, who resides in the old country. The funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock, from the home and at 3 o'clock from the German church, Rev. Michel officiating. The pall bearers will be Messrs. Peter Mayer, Christ Reimer, Frank Pizza, George Sower, George Bowman and F. S. Will.
