MRS. J. A. JONES' DEATH

End Comes Sunday Morning to Old Resident of City

Death at 10:50 Sunday forenoon came to Mrs. Mary J. Jones, wife of John A. Jones, and mother of Ex-Mayor L. B. Jones. Mrs. Jones died at the family home, 511 North Third avenue, of uremic poisoning. She had been suffering for several years of asthma and heart disease, and six weeks ago became confined to her home. It was not until last Tuesday, however, that her condition became such as to keep her in bed. Mrs. Jones was born Mary Jane Hickox, near Cleveland, O., Aug. 19, 1840. She became the wife of Mr. Jones in October, 1858, the wedding taking place near Rockford, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Jones came to this city thirty-three years ago. Aside from her husband, Mrs. Jones is survived by three children, Charles, Lewis B., and Miss Mattie Jones, all of this city. One other son, Henry, died at the age of 14 in this city thirty years ago. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, Rev. James McGee officiating. Interment will be in Riverside.
