MRS. SUSAN WORLEY DEAD

Nanogenarian of City, Mother of Mrs. Mary Getz, Passes Away

Mrs. Susan Worley, one of the oldest residents of the city, widow of an early business man, and mother of Mrs. Mary Getz, 5 South Fourth street, died at her daughter's home at 9:43 this morning of the infirmities of old age. Mrs. Worley was 97 last September. She had been in failing health for several years, and the decline had been very noticeable since March. Mrs. Worley was born Susan Arndt, at Manheim, Pa., Sept. 2, 1817, spent her girlhood there, and there became the wife of Nathan Worley March 10, 1846. Mr. and Mrs. Worley lived at Dayton, O., for a short time following their marriage, but later went back to Manheim, where they resided until they came here in 1893, and since his death Mrs. Worley has made her home with her daughter. In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Getz, Mrs. Worley is survived by one son, John Worley, of Dayton, O. Another son, Nathan Worley, Jr., died in 1890. An only brother, Henry Arndt, died at Manheim Oct. 17 at the age of 93. Four grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive Mrs. Worley. The funeral will be held from the Getz home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in charge of Rev. James P. Linn. Interment will be in the family lot in Riverside.
