MRS. SARAH FERGUSON DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. Sarah Anna Ferguson, a resident of the Laurel and Ferguson neighborhood for 63 years, died Sunday morning at 3:30 at St. Thomas Mercy hospital. She had been in the hospital for three months. Death wa due to age debility. Mrs. Ferguson was born Sarah Anna Dillen on March 15, 1858, in Mason county, Kentucky, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Dillen. When she was 3 years old her father died and in 1877 she came to this county to make her home with her sister, Susan Dillen, in Laurel. Then she went to live with her mother and brother, who had moved to a farm near Ferguson. In 1879 she was married to Isaac N. Ferguson, who died some years ago. A son, Courtney Ferguson, died Dec. 15, 1925. One son, Earl Ferguson of this city, survives his mother. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Mrs. Kenneth Wilkinson of Chelsea, Mrs. Vernon G. Reed of Kansas City, Mo., Earl Ferguson of Long Beach, Calif., Cleon Ferguson of Chicago, Ill., and Margaret Helen Ferguson of Waterloo. Three great grandchildren also survive. She was the last of her immediate family. When she was quite young she united with the Methodist church and in 1928 she united with the Pentecost Mission at Ferguson. Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pursel funeral home in charge of Rev. Vern Doud with burial in the Timber Creek cemetery.
