WOMAN STRICKEN ON SHOPPING TRIP DIES

Mrs. Nellie Helland, 505 Marion street, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Smith, 4 West Grant street, at 6:40 p.m. Saturday. She was stricken with a heart attack while shopping Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Helland was born Nellie Bertine Nelson, Dec. 24, 1874 in Hardin county where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Louis R. Helland in December, 1898 in Marshalltown, and he died in this city Nov. 8, 1920. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Roy M. Helland, Mrs. W. W. Smith, Mrs. R. F. Ellis and Earl T. Helland of Marshalltown, and E. J. Helland of Chicago, Ill., one sister, Miss Mable Nelson of this city; two brothers, Ingwald Nelson of Garden City and Theodore Nelson, living in Illinois. Seven grandchildren also survive. She was baptised and confirmed in the Hardin County Lutheran church Oct. 20, 1889. She was a member of the Elim Lutheran church and Ladies Aid society of that church. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Elim Lutheran church in charge of the pastor, Rec. Frederic M. Norstad. Burial will be in Riverside. The body will remain at the Estel funeral home until an hour preceding the services.
