Services for Mrs. Nellie Davis, 81, of Eldora, former Gilman resident who passed away Saturday at an Eldora Hospital, were held Tuesday, Jan. 3, at the United Church of Christ, Eldora. Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Newburg.

Nellie Parker was born in Ireland on July 25, 1891. She married Alex Mairs there on Oct. 11, 1909. They came to the United States in 1911. They were the parents of seven children, three of whom preceded Mrs. Davis in death. Mr. Mairs passed away in 1940 and Mrs. Mairs married John Davis in 1946. He died in 1961.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond of rural Gilman and Howard of Eldora; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Ethel) Barnes, Gilman, and Mrs. Lawrence (Ellen) Ramsell, Minneapolis, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; two stepsons, Robert and Darwin Davis; two brothers, Robert Parker of Liscomb and Hugh Parker of Florida; two sisters, Dolly McCurdy of Detroit, Mich., and Sissie Wallace of Ireland.
