Albert Hockridge ,Dies At Age 64; Rites Tuesday

Albert (Ab) Hockridge, 64, formerly of Marshalltown and Nevada, who had made his home in Reed Springs, Mo., for the last two years, died in Branson, Mo., Sunday morning, where he had been hospitalized for the last two weeks with a heart condition. Born Oct. 8, 1899 in Marshalltown, he was the son of W. J. and Clara Buchwald Hockridge. He received his education and grew to manhood in Marshalltown, and later attended Iowa State College at Ames. During World War I he served in the Army. On Dec. 23, 1926, he was married to. Caroline Pell and they had nearly always lived in Marshalltown. Mr. Hockridge was employed by Lennox Industries Inc., in the Foundry Department for 36 years, retiring in 1962. For 16 years, he was president of the Trades and Labor Assembly. Preceding him in death was his mother. Mr. Hockridge was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was active in local union affairs. SURVIVING ARE his widow and three children, Robert G. Hockridge of Davenport, Mrs. Robert Hein of Muscatine and Ronald W. Hockridge , Minneapolis, Minn. Also surviving is his father, W. J. Hockridge of Reed Springs, Mo., six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Helen Stone, Springfield, Mo. Services will be from the chapel of Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday with W. A. Sowers, elder of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Nevada in charge. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
