Sarah Sawyer was born November 24, 1832 at Licking, Ohio to Joseph Sawyer (b 1793, d 1872) and Sarah Farnham (b 1796, d 1872).

Found in the 1850 census at Lee Center, Lee, Illinois: Joseph Sawyer 57, Mary Sawyer 53, George W Sawyer 15, Sarah Sawyer 17, Alonzo Sawyer 13.

Sarah married Samuel Robinson on October 15, 1851 at Lee, Illinois. The couple had no children.

Sarah next married Abijah Spaulding McIntyre (b November 8, 1816 Indiana, d September 30, 1864 Albion, Marshall, Iowa, Find a Grave #69524420) on October 6, 1853 at LaSalle, Illinois.
The couple had 2 children: George A (b February 27, 1856 Paw Paw, Lee, Illinois, d December 25, 1928 Iowa, FAG # 83686310) and Alice Maud (b 1857 Illinois, married Henry Teft).

Sarah's third marriage was to Gideon Francis Auringer (b October 2, 1832 Onondaga, New York, d September 19, 1900 Marshall, Iowa, FAG # 3861603) on August 25, 1866 at Albion, Marshall, Iowa. They had 1 son, Francis Gideon (b June 24, 1867 Albion, Marshall, Iowa, d March 19, 1942 Neligh, Antelope, Nebraska).

1880: Gideon Auringer 47, Sarah Auringer 47, Alice Mcintyre 23, Francis Auringer 13, Ida Ford 21, step-daughter Alice, age 23, living w/ the family. Dressmaker. Alice's mother was Sarah.

1885: Gideon F Auringer 53, Sarah Auringer 52, Francis G Auringer 17.

1895: Sarah Auringer age 62.

Found in the 1900 census at Chicago, Cook, Illinois: living w/ daughter Alice and family. H B Tefft 40,Alice Tefft 42,Bernice M Tefft 17,Sadie F Tefft 13,Frank Tefft 9,Augusta Tefft 7,Sarah Auringer 67.

Sarah Auringer died January 6, 1909 at Shell Creek, Iowa. She is buried at Albion Cemetery, Albion, Marshall, Iowa. There is a memorial for her at Find a Grave #23861628.
