MRS. EVA CHARMICHAEL DIES SUDDENLY THURSDAY

Mrs. Eva R. Charmichael, 509 South Fourth street, died suddenly at her home at 6 o’clock Thursday evening. She had been in poor health for 10 years, bedfast part of the time and in a wheel chair for the last eight years. Death was due to heart complications. Mrs. Charmichael was born on July 24, 1878, in Ogle county, Illinois, the daughter of William and Mary Hay. When a small child, she moved with her family to Shelby county, Iowa, then two or three years later to this city where she had lived ever since. She was married in Toledo, July 14, 1914, to George W. Charmichael. He died in 1920. A son by a former marriage, Lyle Mead died at the age of 16. Surviving is a son, Vernon Charmichael of this city, and three grandchildren. Brothers and sisters surviving are Melvin O. Hay and Mrs. Frank Buchwald of this city, Frank Hay of Chicago, Ill., and Earl Hay of Cedar Rapids, also a half brother, Henry Hay of Chicago. She was a member of the First Evangelical church. Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Pursel funeral home with burial in Riverside.
