MRS. JESSE STEWARD DIES AT DEACONESS

Mrs. Jesse M. Steward, 308 South Seventh avenue, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Deaconess hospital where she had been a surgical patient since last Wednesday. She was born Oct. 15, 1896, at Spring Dale, Ark., the daughter of John and Alberta Carter. She was married at Fayetteville, Ark., Nov. 26, 1925, to J. M. Steward, and had been a resident of this city since 1930. Survivors include two children by a former marriage, Miss Doris Grissom of Spring Dale, Ark., and Pvt. Max John Grissom, Camp Mackall, N.C., her widower, and seven children, one son Dale and six daughters, Jene and June, twins, Mary Lou, Patricia, Erma and Freda, all at home; one step-daughter, Mrs. Alta Early, Lincoln, Neb.; three step-sons, Leslie Steward, Tulsa, Okla., Cpl. Elwin Steward, Delaware and Russell Steward, U.S. navy, New Orleans, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Venable, Chelan, Wash., Mrs. Margaret Charleston and Miss Minnie Carter, Spring Dale, Ark., and three brothers, Joe Carter, Colorado, Ervin Carter and Rolland Carter, Tulsa, Okla. The body was removed to the Wagner funeral home where it will remain until 9 a.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the Central Church of Christ for services at 10 a.m. in charge of Rev. P. G. Dennis. Burial will be in Riverside.
