ILO ANKRUM, 79, DIES TUESDAY; ILL TWO YEARS

Ilo B. Ankrum, 79, 1108 May St., died at the Evangelical Hospital Tuesday afternoon where he had been a patient since Monday. He had been in failing health for the last two years. He was born Sept. 16, 1876 near Minerva, the son of John and Elizabeth Ankrum. He grew to manhood and was educated in the rural schools of the community. ON JAN. 25, 1899 he was married to Jessie Mable Wilson. The couple farmed near Minerva for a number of years and had spent all of their married life in Marshall County, moving to Marshalltown about 1930 where he was employed at the C. A. Dunham Company for 21 years. Preceding him in death were his wife last November, a daughter in infancy, eight brothers and two sisters. SURVIVING ARE three sons and a daughter, Wilbur Ankrum of Oto, Ernest and Merle Ankrum and Mrs. Richard Brennecke, all of Marshalltown. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Clara Carey of Marshalltown. Services will be held from the Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Friday in charge of the Rev. A. O. Bishop. Burial will be in the Marietta Cemetery.
