ROENA ARNEY IS DEAD AT 93 IN ARKANSAS

Liscomb---(Special)---Relatives have received word of the death of Mrs. Roena Price Arney, 93, who died in a hospital at Little Rock, Ark., June 24. Mrs. Arney was the last of a family of nine children of Larkin and Sarah Price, early settlers of the Bethel Grove neighborhood, who came to Marshall county from Virginia in 1853. Mrs. Arney was born June 17, 1857, at the old Dawson homestead, where Nettie Patton now lives. She attended the Liscomb schools during the Jennings regime, and was married to John Henry Arney, son of Solomon Arney. They lived on farms near Conrad and Beaman and later moved to Arkansas. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Arney returned to Marshall county. She lived with a niece, Nettie Patton, of Bethel Grove for about 10 years and for a time made her home with a grand niece, Mrs. Betty Kerr, in Liscomb. She had made her home recently with a granddaughter, Mrs. Floydena Calbert. A daughter, Mrs. Nina Hildreth is dead. A son, Claude Arney, is a retired navy lieutenant and lives in Honolulu. Mrs. Arney was a sister-in-law of Perry Arney of Marshalltown and C. E. Arney of Albion, and has many relatives in Marshall county. Burial was in Arkansas.
