MRS. MARY HOOVEN DIES SATURDAY AT 84

Mrs. Mary Z. Hooven, 84, 810 N. Center St., died at 3:50 a.m. Saturday at her home. She had been in failing health the past four years. The body is at the Avey Funeral Home pending service arrangements. Born Aug. 15, 1871, in Marshall County, the daughter of James and Mary McGill Allen, she was married to William M. Hooven in 1889 in Marshall County where they farmed until retirement, coming to this city 36 years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1939, two sons and one sister. Survivors include three sons, Carl B., Alameda, Calif., Harold C., New York City, N.Y., and Clint A., Marshalltown; four daughters, Mrs. C. R. Wood and Mrs. G. E. McKibben, Marshalltown, Mrs. Harold Hodson, Troy, N.Y. and Mrs. Walter Smith, Dunbar. Fourteen grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren also survive.
