EARLY COUNTY RESIDENT DIES IN JULESBURG, COL.

Charles Lewis Morgan, an early resident of Marshall county, died March 2 at the age of 79 at his home at Julesburg, Col., according to word received here Tuesday. Funeral services were held March 4 at Ovid, Col., the service at the grave in Pleasant Valley cemetery being conducted by Logan lodge A.F. and A.M. Mr. Morgan was born at Marietta Sept. 2, 1860, and grew to manhood in Marshall county, attending the old Albion seminary in which his father, the late Joshua Morgan, was a teacher. In 1882 he married Martha Jane Hays, who died in 1889. To this union one daughter, Mabel, was born. In 1886 he went west by covered wagon, settling on the old Fort Sedgwick reservation, where he spent the rest of his life. In 1906 he married Addie Penneck and to this union another daughter, Margaret was born. His second wife died in 1937. Mr. Morgan is survived by two daughters, now Mrs. Fred Evans of Ovid, Col., and Mrs. Mabel Stewart of Clemons; three granddaughters, Mrs. Clyde Williams, Mrs. Henry Hudspeth and Mrs. Wallace Shore, all of near Union, and nine great grandchildren.
