FORMER RESIDENT HERE DIES AT ALLISON

Mrs. C. H. Nelson, a resident of this city for nearly 50 years, died at her home near Allison Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. She had been in poor health for a number of years. Death was caused by coronary occlusion. Mrs. Nelson [Carolina Sophia Thompson] was born at Allen's Grove, July 1, 1873, the daughter of Senius and Doris Thompson. When she was 8 years old she moved with her parents to a farm near Clinton and then to a farm about eight miles north of this city, about 60 years ago. She was married to Pete Hanson in 1893 and he died five years later. In 1900 she was married to C. H. Nelson. In 1937 they moved to Allison. Besides Mr. Nelson, she is survived by one son by her first husband, James Peter Hanson, who also lives in Allison; a brother John Thompson of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Kate Nelson of this city; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren. A daughter, Mattie, died in the same week as her father in 1998. She was a member of the Baptist church. Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 'clock at the Pursel funeral home in charge of Rev. W. A. Dalton. Burial will be in Riverside.
