Meinhardt Louie "M.L. or Junior" Hasstedt, 82, Ogden, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 surrounded by those who loved him. Private services have been held.

M.L. was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Ogden, the son of Meinhardt Hans and Elsie Opal (Wilson) Hasstedt. He married Donna Colleen Kimsey March 12, 1949 in Ogden. The couple was married 59 years.

Survivors include his wife Colleen of Ogden; four daughters, Julee (Charles) Swanson of Marshalltown, Gail Yocum of Stuart; Jane (Jon) Awtry of Harlan, and Sheila (Mitch) Dunn of Clive; one brother, Myron (Janet) Hasstedt; and seven grandchildren, Kelly, James (Katie), Grayson, Ashley, Ellen, Caroline and William. He was preceded in death by his parents.
