Services Held Monday for Cecil Hauser

Services for Cecil H. Hauser, 73, Route 3, Marshalltown, who died Friday, March 15, at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, were held Monday afternoon, March 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Pursel-Davis Chapel in Marshalltown. The Rev. Leonard Bergstrom conducted the services. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.

Mr. Hauser was born in Marshall County on March 15, 1912, the son of Herbert H. and Ella N. West Hauser. He was reared and educated in the LaMoille area, graduating from high school there. He married Opal M. Loupee March 25, 1945 in Marshalltown. They lived on a farm north of LaMoille for many years.

In January of this year, Mr. Hauser and his sons received the State Master Pork producer Award. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. he was a member of the LaMoille Congregational Community Church, the Harlan G. Pfantz Post of the American Legion and the Marshall County Pork Producers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Surviving are his widow, Opal; three children, Larry Hauser and John Hauser, both of Route 3, and Nancy Whalley of Pella; six grandsons, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edith Hauser, Marshalltown. ~ The Colfax, Iowa Weekly paper (Name was torn off) Thurs 21 Mar 1985.
