Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Pursel-Davis chapel for Mrs. Ella N. Hauser, 95, of the Marshalltown Manor who died there Saturday morning, January 17.

The Rev. Greg McLaughlin was in charge and burial followed in Riverside Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Hauser was born July 14, 1885, in Davie County, NC the daughter of Anderson and Henrietta Miller West. She was married to Herbert H. Hauser in North Carolina and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Cecil Hauser, route 3, Marshalltown, a daughter-in-law, Edith Hauser of Marshalltown, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband, by a son, four sisters, four brothers and one infant great-grandson.

Mrs. Hauser was reared and educated in North Carolina, coming to Iowa as a young woman. She and her husband farmed near Van Cleve and later lived in the Marshalltown area. She had resided at the Marshalltown Manor since 1970. Mrs. Hauser was a member of the Moravian Church of Winston-Salem, NC.

Pallbearers were John Hauser, Larry Hauser, Tom Whalley, Jim Purvis, Greg Purvis and Robert Wilkinson. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Jan 1981.
