LEE DOROSIN

Lee Dorosin was born in Marshalltown, Iowa in the winter of 1926 [Herman & Irene Fine Dorosin]. He passed away unexpectedly on May 27th, 2004, while vacationing in Southern California. After serving in the army of occupation in WWII, Lee graduated from the University of Iowa, attended Boalt School of Law and became an investor-real estate broker in San Francisco with the firm of Dorosin Hansell & Choy. Lee was an avid reader of history but his greatest loves were his family and hiking and he spent his life striving to protect and nurture the trails of Mt. Tamalpais. He was a member of the Sierra Club, the Alpine Club, the Berkeley Hiking Club, the Trail Preservation Council and Tamalpais Conservation Club. His knowledge of local trails was legendary, and as an amateur botanist, he led dozens of wildflower identification hikes. He will be remembered for the hikes he led as well as his friendship and his wit. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Debbie, daughter Leslie, her husband Steve, daughter Elizabeth, her partner Kathleen, and grandchildren Sydney, Madeline and Henry. A Memorial Service will be held June 6th, 2:00 PM, at Congregation Rodef Sholom San Rafael. Donations preferred to any of the above groups or the Sierra Club Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund, Congregation Rodef Sholom or Congregation Kol Shofar.
