He spent practically all of his life in this community and for the last 17 years made his home in town.

James Wesley Beeman, oldest son of Elizabeth and William Beeman, was born on a farm north of Liscomb, in Marshall county, On April 20, 1868, and died at the home of his brother, George Beeman, in Conrad, Iowa, on February 12, 1932. At the time of his death he had reached the age of 63 years, 9 months and 12 days.

When he was about a year old the family moved from Liscomb to a farm three miles west of Conrad, now known as the Beeman farm which is occupied by the I. D. Beeman family. He spent practically all of his life in this vicinity. He remained on the farm until the year 1915, when he moved to town with his mother and brother George, where he had since made his home.

He was of a quiet and retiring disposition and those who knew him spoke well concerning him. During his years of ill health he was a patient sufferer and was never known to speak a complaining word.

He was preceded in death by his father, who died in October 1902, and his mother, who passed away in November, 1928. There remain of his immediate family two brothers, George and Ira, and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Jones and Mrs. Lester Jones, all of Conrad, and a large number of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Conrad, Sunday afternoon, at 2 o’clock with Rev. C. K. Hudson officiating.

The pall bearers were George Jones, Oliver Beeghly, Henry Hudspeth, Jud Bristley, Charles Stubbs and I. N. Critser. The flower girls were Mrs. Wilbur Long and Miss Edna Jones, both nieces of the deceased.

The music was furnished by a quartet consisting of Mrs. G. R. Gould, Mrs. Ben Frederick, J. F. Wheeler and Wayne Bauerle, with Miss Minnie Daggett at the piano.

Burial was in the family lot in the Liscomb cemetery.
