Mrs. Vada Johnson, 88, 2 East Grant St., Marshalltown, died Friday afternoon at Marshalltown Hospital where she had been a patient for 10 days.

The service will be Monday at 10 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown with the Rev. Warren K. Johnson, officiating. Another service will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m., at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. Burial will be in the Salina Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Estle-Perrian Funeral Church in Fairfield. Burial will be in the Salina Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born Vada Johnson, on Sept. 12, 1888, in Fairfield, the daughter of Chris and Emma August Johnson. She was educated and reared in the Fairfield area. On Feb. 23, 1911, she was married to Tilfred Johnson in Fairfield. He died in 1949.

She lived in Jefferson County most of her life, moving to Marshalltown 1956.

She is survived by one daughter and two sons, Mrs. LeRoy (Thelma) Carlson of Marshalltown, Maynard Johnson of Ottumwa and Reuben Johnson of Rockville, Md.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Effie Carlson of Marshalltown.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Marshalltown, the Miriam Circle and a sewing group of the church.
