UNEXPECTED DEATH OF ROY HILSABECK
Well Known LeGrand Resident Answers Final Summons --- Had Been Ill Four Weeks

Roy Hilsabeck died at his home here Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, at the age of 51 years. Death was due to heart complications. He had been ill for four weeks and bedfast three weeks. Mr. Hilsabeck was born near Timber Creek, April 18, 1885, the son of Elvin and Martha Hilsabeck. He was married to Miss Bessie McCarel, Oct. 4, 1922, in Marshalltown. They lived at Albion four years, then moved to LeGrand ten years ago. Mr. Hilsabeck followed the trade of carpentering and painting. He is survived by his widow and daughter, Wiletta, four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Arney, Albion, Mrs. J. F. Grammar, Liscomb, Mrs. Emma Dailey and Mrs. Rebecca Smith, both of Glencoe, Okla., and three brothers, M. C. Hilsabeck, Liscomb, D. W. Hilsabeck, Marshalltown, P. W. Hilsabeck, Spencer, and a half brother, C. Neff, of Liscomb. Funeral services will be held from the Christian church at 11 o'clock this (Friday) morning conducted by Rev. J. A. Caskey of Gilman, assisted by Rev. Taylor Guthrie of LeGrand. A brief service will be held at the Estel funeral home preceding the service at LeGrand. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery. The pallbearers chosen to serve were John Grammar, Wilson Grammar, David Grammar, Randolph Grammar, Lloyd Hilsabeck and Ralph Hilsabeck, all nephews of the deceased.
