Agnes M. (Johnson) Hauser was born on Saturday; November 26, 1910 in Roland; Story County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Eli and Magdalena (Christianson) Johnson and lived on the family farm until her graduation from Roland High School in 1928. She received her teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers' College in 1930. After beginning her teaching career in Ellsworth she moved to Whitten where she met her future husband: Herbert Hauser. They were married on Friday; July 23, 1937. Agnes gave up teaching to become a homemaker but returned to the classroom at the Union-Whitten School in 1958. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Drake University in 1964 and retired from teaching in 1973. She and Herb moved to Union; Hardin County, Iowa in 1962 and lived there until moving to Conrad; Grundy County, Iowa in 2005. She was a lifelong reader and an excellent quilter. Agnes M. (Johnson) Hauser, age: 100, passed away on Friday; September 9, 2011 at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her children: Gary (Annamaria) Hauser of Union, Iowa and Steven Hauser of Iowa City; Johnson County, Iowa. Her grandchildren: Sylvia (Lex Neal) Hauser of Grafenwoehr, Germany, Lisa (Randy) Duncan of Indio; Riverside County, California; and her great-grandchildren: Paden, Ella, and Nele. Also her sister: Ethyleen (Glenn) Sampson of Nevada; Story County, Iowa and her brother: Herbert Johnson of Story City; Story County, Iowa. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband: Herb on February 14, 2005; her parents: Eli and Magdalena Johnson; her brothers and sisters: Earl, Marion, Ruth and Jeannette. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from: 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday; September 12, 2011 at the Community Church in Union, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday; September 13, 2011 also at the Community Church in Union; Iowa.
