Inez Hilsabeck, 89

Funeral services for Inez Hilsabeck, 89, of 1 West Grant Street, who died there early Saturday morning, August 31, will be held at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Greg Frost of Center Street Baptist Church will officiate and burial will follow in the Timber Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 p. m. this Tuesday; the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p. m. there.
Born June 30, 1902, in Albion, she was the daughter of George and Rachael Belle VanTresse Abbey. She was educated in that area. On July 31, 1928, in Waterloo, she married Adelbert Hilsabeck and they made their home in Ferguson until moving to Marshalltown in 1943. After her husband’s death in 1957, she moved to California, returning to Marshalltown in 1976.
Surviving are three sons: Jim Hilsabeck of Marshalltown: Larry Hilsabeck, Wills Point, Texas; L. Verle Hilsabeck of Springville; four daughters: Jean (Mrs. Leroy) Frey of Ackley; Shirley Keller, Lakewood Colorado; Marilyn Jackson, Vancouver, Washington; and Charlene Burton, Springfield, Missouri. Also surviving are a stepson Delbert Hilsabeck, and stepdaughter, Edythe West, both of Schreveport, Louisiana; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Noble, Napa, California, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were a grandson, a stepdaughter and a brother in infancy.
