ESTELLA KINGSBURY, 110

Estella Kingsbury, 110, of the Villa del Sol Health Care Center, Marshalltown, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the care center. A prayer service will be at 2 p.m., Friday at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Caswell of Central Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation was set for one hour prior to services at the funeral home Friday. Memorials may be directed to Central Christian Church. She was born March 28, 1885, in Kellogg to Charles and Fredericka Bobzin Reichelt. She was raised and educated in Kellogg. She married Delmore Kingsbury Nov. 14, 1901, in Kellogg. She worked at the State Hospital in Cherokee and the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown as a nurse's aide. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Eastern Star and White Shrine. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Sun City West, Ariz., and Leonard of Marshalltown; a daughter Bernice Niemi of Seattle; several grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Hanna of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

NOTE: This obituary curiously (?) omits the fact that Estella was married to Louis Barrett Tucker, former long-time Marshall County Treasurer, from 1940-1964.
