James L. Roughton died January 16, 2011 at Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown IA.

Born February 16, 1938 in Williston ND
Parents: Olga (Reite) and Clarence Roughton
Attended elementary through 10th grade at Valley City ND Public Schools and awarded Eagle Scout Honors
Graduated from high school in Elyria OH in 1956
Earned Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from Ohio University in Athens OH and MBA degree from the University of Missouri in St. Louis

Married Judith Ann Stanko in 1957 and she died in 1994.
Married Kathy Wheeler June 8, 1996 in Marshalltown
Retired from Monsanto in 1999 after 39 years

Active member of First Congregational Church, Elmwood Golf & Country Club where he was a past treasurer,
Marshalltown Concert Association - past board member,
National Association of Accountants - past board member,
Compassionate Friends,
Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honorary Fraternity
Beta Theta Pi Fraternity
Past Regional Finance Director of Boy Scouts of America, TAMAHA District.
