Charles Elsworth Lamb of LeGrand died at 12:55 p.m. Saturday [April 25, 1942] at St. Thomas Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown. Mr. Lamb had been ill of heart disease for the past five years.

He was born in Garwin Sept. 28, 1877 and married Bertha May Pieter at Eldora March 22, 1899. After their marriage Mr. & Mrs. Lamb lived at Eldora for four years and in Minnesota for 17 years, and were for a short time in North Dakota before returning to Hardin county, where they lived until 1925, when they moved to LeGrand.

Mr. Lamb is survived by his widow, three sons, Arthur Lamb, New London, Wis.; Harold Lamb, Zillah, Wash.; and Cleo Lamb, LeGrand; four daughters, Mrs. J.L. Rogers, New Hartford; Mrs. Doren Huffaker, Marshalltown; Mrs. Clifford Huffaker, LeGrand; and Mrs. Hollis Eash, Marshalltown; a brother, Capp Lamb, Eldora; three sisters, Mrs. Allie Lynch, Parkersburg; Mrs. Lloyd Peak, Marshalltown; and Mrs. H.P. Jensen, Steamboat Rock; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

His parents and a brother, Frank, preceded him in death.

The body will be at the Estel funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in charge of Rev. Floyd Hinshaw of New Hartford. Burial will be in the cemetery at Steamboat Rock.
