Services for Steven Eygabroad, 45, of Marshalltown, who died Tuesday, April 7 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Pursel-Davis funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Steven L. Eygabroad Memorial Fund.

He was born Sept. 15, 1946 in Marshalltown to Anneus E. and Pearlie M. Ellison Eygabroad. He graduated from Marshalltown Hih School and Marshalltown Community College and Iowa State University.

He worked for Marshalltown Instruments from 1976 to 1984 and then at Kiowa Corporation from 1984 to 1989. He had worked as a draftsman for Western Manufacturing since 1989.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon and the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick, his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; a daughter, Melissa Eygabroad, Tulsa, Okla., his parents, Anneus and Pearlie Eygabroad, Marshalltown; his grandmother, Margaret Eygabroad, Wellsburg; a brother, Bradlie Eygabroad, Minneapolis, Minn., and two sisters, Deatra Barnes, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Tamara (Mrs. David) Mull, Marshalltown.
