John H. Lamb, 82, a resident of Albion for fifty years, died Monday evening at his home at Albion from the effects of a paralytic stroke Saturday night.

Mr. Lamb was born in Henry County, Indiana, November 15, 1841 and came to Polk county, this state, when 9 years old. He married Marinda Goldsberry Nov. 5, 1865 and they lived at Peoria City until 1874 when they came to Albion. Mr. Lamb enlisted in Company E, 13th Iowa infantry and served from 1861 until within three months of the close of the war.

He is survived by three children. They are Mrs. B.E. Fraley, Albion; W.E. lamb, Spokane, Wash.; and G.G. Lamb, Galva, Ill. One sister, Mrs. Mary Taylor, of Greensburg, Kan. and two brothers, D.H. Lamb, of Steamboat Rock; and W.R. Lamb of Avery, are living.
