Mrs. Bernard E. Fraley, 57, a lifelong resident of Albion, died at 9 o'clock Monday morning at her home in Albion after an illness of several months of a blood infection. She had been bedfast for the last three months. She was taken to the Mayo hospital at Rochester, Minn., Oct. 20 for medical examination and was brought to her home a week later.

Bertha Pearl Lamb was born at Albion Feb. 25, 1880, the daughter of John Hudson (sic) and Marinda Virdin Lamb. She graduated from the Albion public school and later attended Iowa State Teachers College. She taught in the rural schools of the county and was active in musical affairs of the community. She taught piano and violin and conducted the high school orchestra for some time. She also coached many community plays.

She was married to Bernard Eugene Fraley on May 6, 1900 at Gladbrook. To this union were born three daughters, Mrs. O.H. Engel of Gladbrook, Mrs. Elden Moffatt of Albion, and Mrs. L.G. Morgan of Maquoketa.

Besides the widower and daughters, she is survived by her mother, who is 89 years of age and who has been an invalid at the Fraley home for the past six years; a brother, Gilbert Lamb, of Galesburg, Ill., and four grandchildren, James, Mary Lee, Robert and Suzanne Engel of Gladbrook. Also surviving are a large number of other relatives.

She was a member of the Christian church at Liscomb and of the Paran Rebekah lodge at Albion. She had been assistant postmistress at Albion for the last several years.

A private prayer service will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday at the home and funeral services will be at the Estel funeral home in Marshalltown at 2 o'clock with burial in the Albion cemetery.
