Pearlie Eygabroad, 80, formerly of 107 W. Meadow Lane, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at the Villa del Sol Health Center.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dick Sipe officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory, where the family will greet friends at that time. A memorial fund has been established in her name.

She was born on Oct. 14, 1918 in Eagle City to Thomas Ross and Grace Edna (Lamb) Ellison. She was raised and educated in Steamboat Rock, graduating from Steamboat Rock High School in 1936.

She married Anneus "Bing" Eygabroad on Aug. 8, 1939 in Marshalltown. Following World War II they moved to Marshalltown. She was employed by Itell McCallaugh and F.W. Woolworth Co. prior to her 28 year career with Spurgeon Co. During her career with Spurgeons, she was fondly known as the candy lady.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught school and the American Baptist Women Circles.

Survivors include two daughters, Tamara (Mrs. David) Mull of Marshalltown and Deatra Barnes of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a son Bradlie of Little Rock, Ark., a brother Malvan Ellison of Fortuna, Calif., eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Steven and Patrick; two sisters; and two brothers.
