Russell R. Emerson of Marshalltown, Iowa died Thursday, February 16, 1989 in his residence after a sudden illness. He was 74 years of age. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Marshalltown, Iowa. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Iowa.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Karlene) Anfinson of Ossian, Iowa; three sons, Stanley Emerson of Mason City, Iowa, Darrell of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Larry Emerson of Marshalltown, Iowa; four sisters, Thelma Jorgensen of Garwin, Iowa, Mildred Emerson, and Esther Utterback, both of Toledo, Iowa and Doris McClure of Tama, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
