JACOB FISCUS DEAD

---Resident of Liscomb Township for Many Years Passes Away---

Jacob J. Fiscus, a resident of the Bethel Grove neighborhood for twenty-nine years, died at 4:30 this morning at his home, following an illness of more than a year, due to age, debility and complications. Mr. Fiscus was born in Owen county, Indiana, March 18, 1842. When he was a young man he came to Iowa, and in August, 1881, he settled in Shelby county. He came to Liscomb township in 1901. He was married in Indiana, to Sara Jane Hubbell, in 1866. Mrs. Fiscus died March 19, 1927. Mr. Fiscus is survived by two sons, Lewis Fiscus, Irwin, and Emmett C. Fiscus, Audubon; a brother Henry Fiscus, and a sister, Mrs. Abraham Bowman, of Worthington, Ind. Mr. Fiscus was a member of the Bethel Grove Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Monday from the church, in charge of Rev. George Biersborn, of Liscomb. Burial will be in the Bethel cemetery.
