The funeral of Mrs. Lydia Alice Fiscus, wife of Nelson Fiscus, was held from the Bethel Grove Christian church Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock and was very largely attended by relatives and friends of Liscomb and Liscomb township. Rev. W. H. Scott officiated and the burial was in the church burying ground. Mrs. Fiscus was born in Owen county, Indiana, September 21, 1866. On Feb. 28, 1888, she was married to Nelson Fiscus, and the same year the couple came to Iowa to live. Of the five children born to Mr. and Mrs. Fiscus three are living. In addition to the children, Mrs. Fiscus is survived by her husband, two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Fiscus united with the Christian church at an early age, and was a devoted member. Her death followed one of several surgical operations that she has undergone in recent year.
